Well thats it really, we'll do anything to avoid doing the one thing we're supposed to be concentrating on, which is writing, I admit i did all those things today except writing, I even wrote a self referential blog to pass an hour .......oh
Sure you can blame it on the working from home atmosphere, the lack of inspiration, but when it comes down to it, its just about slogging your guts out and getting something down on the page. However trite, cliched and embarrassing. But once you've evacuated those bundle of ideas out of your mind they are naked and ready for worldwide critique, although like new mothers we are defensive of our "creations" but for them to truly stand a chance we must take on critiscism, allowing others and ourselves to rexamine the work, stripping out rewriting and rewriting talking about character dynamics, narratives etc...make the script lean and flexible.
For all the scripts I've read in my short time, I'm still amazed why more time isn't devoted to enhance them, its the cheapest time in the films production!!!, when all you need is a pen, paper and a brain or two.
